Terms of Service

Last updated: June 2026

1. Acceptance of Terms

By downloading, registering for, or using SecDrive, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use the platform.

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 16 years old to use SecDrive as a passenger. Drivers must be at least 18, hold a valid Nigerian driver's licence, and register through an authorised SecDrive Verification Centre.

3. Passenger Responsibilities

Passengers are responsible for providing accurate emergency contact details, using the app at the start of every trip, and reporting suspicious activity through the app or by contacting law enforcement. SecDrive provides information and alerts — it is not a substitute for personal safety judgement.

4. Driver Responsibilities

Registered drivers must keep their documents up to date, display their SecDrive QR code visibly, accept or decline passenger verification requests promptly, and comply with Nigerian traffic laws at all times. Misuse of the platform, including tampering with QR codes, will result in immediate suspension.

5. Verification Disclaimer

SecDrive verifies documents at the point of registration. We cannot guarantee that a driver's circumstances have not changed since verification (e.g. licence suspension, vehicle change). Passengers are encouraged to exercise personal judgement alongside SecDrive's verification.

6. Emergency Features

The SOS button, route deviation alerts, and police notifications are tools designed to assist — they do not guarantee emergency response times. In a life-threatening situation, always contact emergency services directly on 112.

7. Intellectual Property

All content on SecDrive — including the logo, QR badge design, app interface, and written materials — is the property of SecDrive Nigeria Ltd and may not be reproduced without written permission.

8. Limitation of Liability

SecDrive is provided 'as is'. To the maximum extent permitted by law, SecDrive Nigeria Ltd is not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the platform.

9. Termination

We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms, engage in fraudulent activity, or pose a risk to other users, without notice.

10. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. Disputes will be resolved through the courts of Lagos State.
